3rd Annual Chinese Film Festival, June 1 – 30
In celebration of China, the Doris Duke Theatre brings you four exciting Hong Kong thrillers and two highly acclaimed Chinese films, as well as an illustrated lecture on the Silk Road.
Our Opening Reception on Saturday, June 5th includes live Chinese music performed by members of the University of Hawaii Chinese Music Ensemble. Delicious Chinese food will be available for purchase from Indigo Restaurant. The festivities begin at 6pm.

Bishop Museum recognizes major community partners with Free Admission on June 11th … for kamaaina and military 
This Kamehameha Day, Bishop Museum admission will be waived for kamaaina and military visitors. The free admission on Friday, June 11, 2010, is in recognition of two community partners who have shown incredible support of Bishop Museum programs and exhibits: the Office of Hawaiian Affairs and Hawaiian Airlines.
Visitors on June 11, 2010, will have the opportunity to witness a historic exhibition involving Bishop Museum, the British Museum, and the Peabody Essex Museum. E Ku Ana Ka Paia: Unification, Responsibility and the Ku Images will be on display from June 5, 2010 through October 4, 2010. Derived from the prophecy chant of Kapihe, E Ku Ana Ka Paia literally means “The Walls Shall Stand Firm.” The three Ku images from each museum will be featured together in Hawaiian Hall, with a related interpretive display in the nearby J.M. Long Gallery
